What Is This Cohort About?

Navigators Church Ministries are now accepting applications for a free, 4-week online cohort designed for church leaders who want to grow their practice of disciplemaking with greater intentionality, depth, and faithfulness.

The Disciplemaking as Craft cohort invites you to rediscover disciplemaking as relational, adaptive, and formed over time, instead of fixed, rushed, and predictable.

Together, you’ll explore what it looks like to practice disciplemaking with character, vision, excellence, and adaptability in your local context.

This is not a webinar, it’s interactive and relational—just like disciplemaking.
It is a small, discussion-based learning cohort designed for meaningful engagement.

Each session will include guided teaching and reflection with Bill Mowry, followed by interactive discussion and peer learning. Because this is a live, Zoom-based cohort, participation and conversation are central to the experience.

Meet the Cohort Leader

Bill Mowry is an author, teacher, coach, and longtime disciplemaker with The Navigators.

Bill’s disciplemaking journey began over fifty years ago when a friend in his college dorm invited him to read the Bible together. That simple, heart-to-heart investment ushered him into “the life of the Great Commission — Jesus’s disciples help friends become disciples,” and shaped the direction of his life and ministry.

Bill joined The Navigators staff in 1975 and has ministered to college students, professionals, and church leaders. For over a decade, he has served with The Navigators Church Ministries, helping churches build disciplemaking cultures — moving disciplemaking from the margins to the mainstream and from the domain of the professional to the everyday Christian.

He is the author of The Ways of the Alongsider and Walk With Me, writing to simplify and “de-professionalize” disciplemaking so that everyday believers can build authentic relationships and help others become wholehearted followers of Jesus.

Bill and his wife Peggy live in Columbus, Ohio.
